LOLA Backpacks Styled 3 Ways

This post is sponsored by Zappos

I am so excited to share the cute bag with you guys! I was introduced to Lola a while back while doing some online shopping, but at the time didn’t pick one up. When Zappos reached out about doing a collaboration with them I was so excited! Right now I don’t have a need for a larger backpack (even though theirs are CUTE) but when I saw this one I about passed out.

I loveeee a convertible backpack and these colors were fun but easy enough to wear in my opinion. I show you all how you can wear the bag three different ways with one outfit below. I also almost passed out because it was sold on Zapposs which couldn’t make life any easier! Zappos has a 365 day return policy and 24/7 customer service + my shoes literally arrived a day after they were ordered!

I am really into the bike shorts trend right now. I think they are the perfect athleisure moment with this bag and cropped band tee!

You can shop my bag here.

A California Day in my Gordmans

THIS POST WAS SPONSORED BY SPECIALTY RETAILERS, INC.

Friday in the Sonoma area was one of the best California day. We started out going to a vineyard and watched in a matter of fifteen minutes the fog roll back over the mountains to reveal the most beautiful scene. In my opinion there is very little as beautiful as rolling hills covered in rows of grapes. We toured the grounds which was built in the belief that organic is best (love) and then sat down for a tasting. After that we drove to a bay where we enjoyed fresh crab sandwiches as we saw sailboats coming and going. Nearby there was a beach and as the clouds were coming in just in time for Jon, Erica and I to totally conk out for an hour for the most blissful nap. On our way back to our house we stopped for saltwater taffy. I hope to live this day again and again!

Now for the best part… my outfit. You all know I have talked a lot about Gordmans before - find the posts here and here. I wanted to create a summer look that was easy, breezy and perfect for vacation. I love this skirt because it kept me warm in the morning but the material is very breathable + leopard is a neutral in my mind. I paired it with a white denim jacket that I know I will be reaching for all year long and the cutest new sunnies! All of the items were bought at a serious discount that you can get EVERYDAY at Gordmans!

You can learn more about why Gordmans is your one stop shop for home decor, clothing and more here.

I also have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to my sister Halle who helped me shop for this look!!

Here is the Thing...

IMG_2980-min.jpg

Life is such a ride. Somedays I feel so lucky and some days I feel so empty and I wish I was being dramatic. I have already hammered to death what all has happened in this past month but being on the other side of so much change is leaving me a bit speechless. I opened up this blogpost document just to get as much off my chest as I could - so here we go.

Moving sucks. I mean the physical lifting boxing and packing sucks, but even more painful is the stomach sinking feeling I have even thinking about my “old” life in my old home and realizing how much that makes me feel. I am really sad lately. I miss Denver more than I thought I would and to be honest, Tulsa is not as perfect as I wanted it to be. The problem is it didn’t change - I just didn’t. I am still me and to think that I could have changed into someone else while driving across state lines is not realistic. I am working on finding a way to feel like me in my new home.

Meanwhile… I am also planning a wedding that is 11 months away…

but seems to require an email or decision almost daily. I am trying my hardest to keep Jon involved but at the end of the day I find myself saying yes or no or emailing my Mom begging her to decide or research for me. Fortunately we hired some kick ass planners (Table 6 Productions) and I am really so grateful for them. I never wanted a big or fussy wedding but try as I might I am still such a lover of weddings at heart and that was unrealistc. Either way I am really excited for it to all come together.

Marriage* is hard…

I guess the last thing is to expand on my recent IG post here. I mentioned that ‘marriage’ is hard and even though we aren’t married - moving in together, to a new place and being engaged - feels pretty close. I truly love Jon and wouldn’t change him or our relationship for the world but SHIT. This is hard work to always being putting us first while still trying to find our new places in the world. I am so hopeful though that we will grow together and not apart over the next many many years to come.

So that is the ramble, I hope you enjoyed learning the inner monologue of my Sunday (lol). I love talking to you guys about these things so message me on IG or here and we’ll talk!!

ALSO should I do a tutorial on these waves?? LMK!

Suit Up Baby

I love this jacket so so much. I am trying to find as many ways as possible to wear it 1) because I paid way too much for it (even at sample sale price) 2) It is too dang cute to handle! It is Elisabetta Franchi which is a gorgeoussss designer who makes amazing outerwear that you can check out here but if you are like me and can't afford to shop like that all the time have no fear! I link lots of options for this look below because I am all about mixing high and low end...

For example, this jacket was hundreds, but this purse and earrings were thrifted for $1.99 and $5.99 respectively! This crop was on sale and I found a perfect dupe for $10 here and my belt is a scarf from H&M! Proof that you can look good on a budget even when you need to suit up ;)
